What's Cookin?

Pub-style chicken marinated in molasses & soy sauce topped with caramelized onions & drizzled w/ a honey mustard-caesar dressing accompanied by hot garlic buttered spinach & brown rice.

It was a fun process. The food was good and all, but it reminded me of why I don’t like cooking; It just takes too long. This includes the time it takes to go to the grocery store and search for this stuff, prep it, cook it.

New Year's Eve

This whole California trip has been incredible. I’ve seen a great majority of my friends, spent all Christmas day with my brother and his friends, went to the Pechanga Casino, ate Jack in the Box and In N Out (long overdue), and finished it off as a bartender at White Wonderland in Anaheim New year’s Eve. My brother got me this gig with Capital Events; they set up all the beverage and food stations at Insomniac Events. I went from going to Gabriel & Dresden in Ybor for New Year’s, to Partying with my friend Eric, to going to California and not having any plan, to selling water at White Wonderland on New Year’s, to Barbacking for my brother, then to Bartending at a beer station.

Thanks to FROSTY for the PLUR Handshake. “You’re the greatest.” http://voices.yahoo.com/how-give-plur-handshake-7589316.html

By far, best New Year’s Ever. Thanks Anthony, wouldn’t have ever happened without you. And thanks to Kayla Vava Brown for facilitating me to work….. and switching me from barback to bartend/ beer! I loved and genuinely enjoyed what I was doing and it didn’t even feel like I was working.

Fencing Studios in CA

Team Touche Fencing Center differs from others in that it coach Tedd Padgitt has hand built a state of the art facility with video playback, built-in metal strips, overhead scoring apparatus and hidden cables. I fenced seven bouts over three hours. I fenced with Sergey Riezaieveven, a Ukrainian epee and pentathlon national champion and fenced with Chuck Alexander of No Fear Fencing. This club has an intricate and fun group. The $18 floor fee was well worth the challenge.

Cory Price has a new club in Anaheim; a unique club in that it features no reels but an overhead cable and pulley system all attached to overhead monitors that have replaced the standard score machines. Six ungrounded, slippery wood floor strips made it a challenge for fast movements. I fenced Andrea Gory, UCSD Womens NCAA, and Atefeh Seif; an Iranian national champion and coach. I was a USFA member, so I fenced for free. Good studio, great group.

Christmas in California

Hung out with brother & friends all day.
